Who am I?

Welcome! Thank you for visiting my blog.

I have wanted to be an artist and writer since I was a little girl. It wasn’t until 2000 that I decided to take it seriously and started out with graphite portraits. Over the years have added ink and watercolour sketches to my repertoire, and I have even added a book to the fun that I’ve had playing with pencils and paints and words.

This blog is my space to try it on for size as I develop the confidence to put myself out there as an “artist”.

I don’t have formal art training, but I’m not about to let that stop me. I am just going to make it up as I go along. I’ll try to remember to share what I learn as I go along, and I hope you share your creative pursuits too.

I believe that creativity is not a talent or a gift for a select few. I think it’s an intrinsic part of everyone, and it’s a way of seeing the world. It doesn’t mean you have to be a hippy-dippy arty ‘type’ with tie-dye happy pants, being creative can be anything from the way you solve a problem to the dinner you put on the table at night. I think there’s a connection between creativity and spirituality, and I’m exploring that too at the moment. What I do know is that art is great therapy. 🙂
