A couple of months ago my friend Carolyn asked me to design a tattoo for her that would commemorate the people in her family who had been to war or served in the military. We worked together to develop a design with four red poppies joined by vines to climb up and over her shoulder. Today was the day she made it permanent.
One of the early sketches with only three poppies.
Tattooist Brent (Tattoo Culture Tuggeranong)starting on the line work.
Concentration! Brent kept us entertained with songs and dancing between elements. He reckons he was a little intimidated having the artist watching on as he worked…I was just fascinated by the process
Outline completed…time for a little break after the line work was done.
Starting to add some colour and the pain levels start to rise.
The finished piece! It looks fabulous! Brent did a terrific job!
While we were there I did a bit of decorating myself…this design is not one of mine however….I fell in love with it for it’s clean elegance and flowing lines.
Stylised treble clef.
Definitely a two-thumbs-up kinda day!
