This journal piece was done as a response to an exercise in a book that I’m starting to read called The Artist’s Rule – Nurturing Your Creative Soul with Monastic Wisdom by Christine Valters Paintner. It’s a 12-week ‘course’ that I’ll probably work through over the next couple of months. This particular exercise involved thinking about our inner lives as a castle with hidden rooms and passages. This sketch represents for me, the hidden corridors and locked chambers that I have yet to explore.
